About Us
Amy, Jackson, and Erin met while working on the curriculum team at Prenda in 2021. Tasked with creating an interactive, student-led learning experience for microschools, they discovered that their respective skills and experiences complemented each other well, and (perhaps most importantly) that they genuinely enjoyed working together.
So much so that in 2024, after all three had left Prenda, they came together again to build 241 Books, an educational publishing company specializing in literacy-first social studies materials. Most recently, the three of them teamed up once again to create an anniversary publication for The Collins College of Hospitality Management at Cal Poly Pomona.
Whether they are writing curriculum or creating an anniversary publication, their approach is to build something that combines thoughtful design and clear writing to help audiences understand, remember, and care. Their collaborative approach is built on deep respect for the experience and skills that each of them bring to the table and an understanding that writing and design should always work in tandem.
Erin Fry
As a former middle school teacher, published author of five books, and long-time curriculum developer, Erin brings a great deal of writing and editing experience as well as a passion for telling great stories whether she’s writing books, engaging curriculum, or institutional publications. She loves debating the correct usage of semi-colons; however, her greatest joy is uncovering a great story and figuring out the best way to write it.
Writing & EditingJackson Edwards
A former high school math teacher with an MBA from Kellogg, Jackson has spent over a decade leading product and curriculum teams in education. He keeps each project on schedule, checks that every requested change makes it into the final pages, and helps share the finished work with its audience. He's happiest when a story turns facts into something readers remember.
Project Leadership and ProductionA true multi-hyphenate, Amy designs and creates videos, animations, graphics, and documents, among other media. After several years in TV broadcasting, Amy shifted into educational media in 2019 and has since been focused on producing content that encourages learning and curiosity. This career path brings a unique skillset, creative and strategic in equal measure, to all she creates.
